To be cared for lovingly, with patience and understanding. This sounds cliché but we use only “natural horsemanship” methods when handling our horses. We guarantee that your horse will always be treated with the utmost kindness.
A large, safely fenced area to live in where he can exercise freely 24 hours a day,
seven days a week. We do not believe in bi-weekly, daily, etc. “turn outs” (unless required for health reasons). For that reason, each horse is given it’s own, private 32’x200’ paddock with
safe, no-climb fencing.
Shelter from the elements. Each horse is provided with a 12’x12’ fully enclosed shelter. Each shelter has rubber stall mats, feeder and automatic water. This also provides your horse with a safe, comfortable place for stall rest, if required. Most of our paddocks and all of our pastures have trees for shade.
To be able to socialize, safely with his equine friends. We are very sensitive to the fact that these are herd animals. Our paddocks were specifically designed to give every horse the opportunity to visit with other horses (hot tape on top keeps him from getting too friendly).
Quality feed, fresh water and minerals. We feed, twice daily, the quality roughage of your choice. Supplements, you have provided, can also be given for no additional fee. As stated above, each horse has his own constant supply of fresh water. Every horse is given a mineral block.
Consistent, routine health care and prompt veterinary care when necessary. Health care including worming every eight weeks, hoof care at least every eight weeks, vaccinations annually or semi-annually as prescribed will be required. Dental care, grooming and pest control is also strongly recommended.
We take pride in making sure all of the above is given to every horse that lives here with us at the Rock’n H Ranch. Since this is our home, we provide care 24 hours a day with horses checked frequently throughout the day. We know what makes horses happy and how to keep them safe and healthy.
